The Companion
Saiduq had told him what happened, as much as he could...although it was still confusing. Apparently, he found Mizar but...Mizar was gone, wasn't he? How could he back, and be in the JPs HQ, for that matter?
...How would he fit...? Wait, that wasn't important now! Besides, Kaito thought he had a good idea about that, since Saiduq wanted him to "talk" to Mizar. What if he's humanoid now? Nevermind that, how was he even alive!? What would look like? Would he be like Saiduq, or...?
Septentriones might not have been strictly evil but...Kaito brought his cell phone, just in case, and knocked.
"Hello?" He knocked again. ...Silence. Alright, here we go... "Sorry, I'm coming in." Kaito braced himself, opened the door, and stepped inside.

Instead, it was a man; white-haired, in a purple jacket, with a remarkable physical resemblance to Alcor's own human form (though his bangs seemed to sweep the wrong way), standing on the far side of the room. If it wasn't for his-- considerably, more icy gaze, he could almost be mistaken for the star himself, with a different haircut and a change of clothes.
When Kaito walked in, he didn't even seem to take notice of the boy. He seemed preoccupied with the room he had been put in, and was busy gazing out the window in particular. JP's-- he knew about that. He knew about the Hotsuins too, though his knowledge of such was much more disconnected.
It was only one after a moment of Kaito's entrance that he actually seemed to take notice of him, as he turned away from whatever he was examining to stare-- both piercing and hollow-- at the boy before him.
"...You are the one He says Shines." It sounded more like a statement of fact than a question.

"Yeah, you can call me Kaito if you want, ahaha...ah."
His nervousness was palpable.
no subject
"Kaito." He tried the name in his mouth. It was notably unimpressive, though he was far more inclined to use proper names than sentimental titles. No fluff or regalia, just a name.
"I am Mizar. What is your purpose here?"
no subject
"I just wanted to see how you were doing." And...ask how he was even alive again, but that could wait.
no subject
The second part seems to have him stuck, however. His cold expression ceased for a minute, to look contemplative. "'How I am doing'?" What was that supposed to mean?
"I am not doing anything but speaking with you."
no subject
"No, I...meant how you're feeling? Like, you're physical okay, right?"
no subject
It was worth noting that... he was actually standing on the ground. So that probably meant he had to learn to coordinate his arms and legs and walk. Though his expression went right back up to steely as he spoke his answer.
"However, physical condition is still acceptable, despite limitations."
no subject
"That's good! At least you're alive, but I'm...guessing you didn't put that limit on yourself, huh?"
no subject
What an unusual comment to make.
"Limitations are because I am taking the form of a human. They are an understandably weaker form than those of the Septentriones, but it is an easier form to use when interacting with your kind.
"However, we are not alive in the same sense that you consider something to be alive. This is a misnomer."
no subject
"What would you call it, then?"
no subject
Fortunately or unfortunately, Mizar didn't seem to notice if Kaito was experiencing any sort of discomfort.
"We do not live, as we do not die. Our existence is a fixture of the universe. We are created as tools for the Heavenly Throne. 'Life' as defined by humanity is not something we experience."
no subject
"Ah, that's..." That's what? 'That sucks, man?' 'I know you died because I killed you?' Does he even remember that? Should he even risk bringing it up?
"Well, sorry. It's just the last time I saw you..." Wait. Now that he's thinking about it, he's...not even sure if he actually died. "Uh...eaten."
no subject
"I am aware. The last time I was amongst humanity was by Polaris' will. You and JP's saw my end at the power of the Dragon Stream-- however, the Dragon Stream is also a nonliving entity. It cannot have 'eaten' me, because it has no ability to digest. I was eradicated by its energy concentration."
Well he... didn't seem too surprised about the revelation at least!
no subject
"You remember? Er, I mean yeah, I know it wasn't..." Uuuuugh, this was was thank talking with Saiduq! At least he least he went along with some things. Siiiiigh.
"Yeah, you're right. Haha, what was I thinking?"
no subject
"I do. Because our existence is a fixture, the way we perceive time and space is connected to the Akashic Record, instead of linearity."
He seemed almost....unsure? to speak the next part. Or was it... something more bitter? Was he even capable of any of those? "Alcor allows us to view it, and retain the records of what occurred before his ascension."
